Up to date!

So those are all of my accomplishments (pastry-wise) up to date! I feel I've learned a lot since I made my first cake and hopefully I will continue to learn more on how to perfect my techniques. I have to say thank you to my friends who took a chance and ordered cakes from me, thank you to my husband who keeps my four tireless children under control while I'm decorating, and thankyou to God who has given these talents to me as a confidence-booster, a hobby and to be able to bless those around me.

Christmas cake

I made this for one of my favorite neighbors for Christmas. She has been there a lot for me and my family. Thankyou Lynda, I appreciate how wonderful you have been to me!

Graduation Cake

First Wedding Cake

So about five months ago one of my close friends asked if I would make her wedding cake. Intimidated was an understatement but of course I said yes. So for five months, I planned, worried and worried some more. Finally the big day(s) came and I cannot believe how beautifully everything went, without a single problem. The top and bottom layers are vanilla cake with a raspberry filling that I made myself and the middle layer is chocolate with a chocolate mousse filling that I also made, it was so delicious that I made an extra cake filled with it for my family. I would have to say that this is my best cake. I even had a couple people at the reception ask me if the flowers on top were real; that really made my night! Thankyou Alina for believing in me and congratulations!

Noelle's cake!

This would have to be my all-time favorite cake! It was for my little sister's 13th birthday. Love you Nolee!

Teenage girl's birthday cake

This cake was for one of my Young Women's birthdays. Yes I know it has shiny streaks on top! I was too impatient to let it dry before taking pictures, you will see that it is a re-occuring theme.

7 year old girl's birthday cake

Getting better.... this cake was for one of my friend's daughter for her 7th birthday. That's a lot of cake.

A man cake

So I am terrified of doing man cakes! I don't know how to be 'man creative.' But I tried my best and so the kayak cake was born.

Teenage girl's birthday cake

This cake was for my dear friend's daughter for her birthday. Still need to work on smoothing the fondant.

Foofa!

I LOVE this cake! My daughter Audrey loves Yo Gabba Gabba and her favorite character is Foofa. She was turning two so I thought I'd surprise her with a Foofa birthday cake! Here is a tribute picture to Audrey and Foofa at Halloween.

Teenage girl's Birthday Cake

I did this cake for one of my Young Women's birthday, I love how it turned out!

Little girl's birthday cake

This cake was for one of my friend's daughter for her birthday. I hadn't learned the techniques for making the cake completely straight on the sides and the fondant wasn't completely smooth but I love the design!

Flowers anyone?

Did I mention that making fondant flowers are my specialty?

Birthdays....Birthdays....Birthdays

My daughter Olivia's 5th birthday cake. I feel I could have done better on the piping but am overall pleased with the outcome.

Christmas Eclairs

For neighborhood Christmas gifts, I bought some cream-filled pastries from the store, drizzled chocolate over them and made fondant emblems to induce christmas cheer :)

Barbie Cake

This cake was for my oldest daughter Olivia's 4th Birthday, it is a buttercream cake.

Happy 1st Birthday to my beautiful red-headed Audrey! This is my first fondant cake. I think it turned out really well!

In the beginning.....

Lounging on the couch, grazing on whatever chocolate I can find, in my head applauding the patissiers on television for impressive cake displays; I want to do that! Watching more.... I really want to do that.... more watching.... I'm going to do that! And THAT is how it all began.

It's time....

to start a blog about me.... about cake.... about a whole other world without the pressures and predicaments of the world.
