Double Birthday

For our family reunion we all went up to Hatch Patch (our cabin). It was the weekend of my mother-in-law's birthday and my favorite sister-in-law's birthday. I wanted to make them each a cake, after all when you have a cake decorator in the family- it's to be expected :)

My mom's Birthday

I just wanted to make a really pretty cake for my mom.

The Mickelson's Wedding

This was the largest undertaking of a cake that I have ever done. Each layer had 3 layers of cake. The top and the bottom were lemon cake with raspberry filling and the middle layer was lemon with strawberry filling. In the middle of making this cake my fridge decided to go out of business and the strawberry filling oozed out of the middle layer and had to be redone. Despite the lost time, I still managed to go fridge shopping and had one delivered before the other cakes got too hot. Fun fact: when I arrived at the reception center, the doors were locked so I found a small open window and climbed through it. This was definitely a memorable cake :)

Molly's Wedding

When one of my very good friends announced that she was getting married, I insisted on making her cake. She wanted a very small cake so I decided to put it on a very tall stand to showcase it. I can't remember what flavor or filling I used: it's been so long since I updated the blog.

Audrey's 4th Birthday Barbie Cake

I asked Audrey if she wanted mommy to make her birthday cake or if she wanted to pick one out at the store. She informed me that she wanted me to make her a Barbie princess wedding cake which I am not surprised because Audrey has high expectations for everything. I love my little girl!
